Classic Square Series IPL solar park lighting

City of Los Altos

Los Altos, CA

The City of Los Altos contacted us to retrofit two separate lighting fixtures to solar. The city was interested in making the switch to outdoor solar lighting, but didn’t want to deal with any logistics complications with new installations. We were able to get them set up with a simple retrofit adapter kit to affix an Classic Square Series IPL solar light head to the existing poles.

Posse Grounds Park

Sedona, AZ

Several pathways and a parking lot needed to be illuminated for community accessibility in the evenings, with local lighting ordinances a concern for the area.

The City of Sedona had previously worked with FLT on several projects. For this park, they installed both the Classic Round Series PLB solar bollard for the pathways and the Classic Square Series SCL2 luminaire for the parking lot. They chose amber LEDs to respect the Dark Sky policies of nearby Flagstaff.

BFL street lights illuminate the port facility

Fort Armstrong

Honolulu, HI

Fort Armstrong is a port facility in Honolulu Harbor on Oahu. 18 BFL solar street lights were used to replace the aging lights. Solar lights were preferred for their lower cost to install and maintain, and FLT's BFL provides full light coverage in the busy port ensuring the safety of both workers and visitors.

El Mirage Wash Basin Park

El Mirage, AZ

Maricopa County Flood Control District partnered with the city to design and build a 24-acre passive park with manicured pathways through once unpassable lands. FLT's IPL luminaires provide dark sky friendly illumination along paths that are now available to the community throughout the day and night.

Colston Memorial Park

Jeffersonville, IN

The city of Jeffersonville chose FLT's SCL2 solar luminaires and PLB solar bollards to illuminate the parking lot and pathway of Colston Memorial Park. Located on the grounds of a former cemetery, the memorial park remains the final resting place of U.S. military veterans who fought in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, War of 1812, and the Mexican-American war.

Choosing to go solar allowed the municipal government to save substantial time and taxpayer money by avoiding trenching and wiring costs.

Ridge Lane

San Francisco, CA

This community project, located along Ridge Lane in Ingleside, San Francisco, is the continuation of a and this latest development features a beautifully-functional new staircase and walkway connecting Caine to San Miguel.

Using a design created by students of San Francisco’s Academy of Art University, landscape architect Nahal Sobati and landscape designer Eric Arneson chose FLT’s PLB solar bollards for this project due to their cost-effectiveness and the design freedom they offer – the path’s rocky terrain would’ve made trenching and wiring an expensive logistical nightmare.

Mackay Park

Cypress, CA

Designed by on a former elementary school site, Mackay Park is a 2.9 acre site that was developed with sustainability in mind - FLT's solar LED lighting supported the city's and community's design objectives.

African Union Church Cemetery

Delaware City, DE

The Friends of the African Union Cemetery installed nine FLT Classic Round Series WLB solar bollards to replace existing and failing lights. The WLB was chosen as it provides a fitting soft glow over the cemetery and plaza in the evening, as well as adding security to this historical site.

City of Hyattsville Parking Lot

Hyattsville, MD

Parking lot lighting is essential element for improving the safety of the lots' users.

This parking lot in the City of Hyattsville, Maryland, is taking full advantage of the powerful Classic Street Series BFL solar luminaire to light this parking lot without the hassle or high costs associated with digging up the asphalt.

Harbour Park Strata Community

James Bay, BC

The Harbour Park Strata community of James Bay, BC, Canada, sought to add lighting to their parking area but were met with budget-busting cost estimates to add traditional wired lighting. The costs relating to trenching, wiring, and installing wired lighting made solar lighting a clear choice.

Highland Park

Visalia, CA

The Classic Square Series SCL2 solar luminaires installed in Highland Park are a testament to customers knowing and trusting our lights. When the landscape architect needed lighting for the horseshoe and cornhole boxes, he knew our solar lights would be up to the job.

A picture is worth a thousand words. It only took two SCL2 Series lights to illuminate the park’s play courts fully. Now, the neighborhood can take advantage of Visalia’s year-round mild climate and enjoy these outdoor activities whenever they like!

Waikiki Aquarium

Honolulu, HI

Classic Round Series PLB solar bollards were chosen to replace bulky outdated wired incandescent lamps installed in the 1980s. The wiring in both the fixtures and the ground was corroded and had reached the end of its service life, making replacement tricky.

Through our partners Solarcology Solar Bollards and Goldwings Supply Service, one of FLT’s PLB solar bollards were installed. The result was a much more open and less congested entrance to the aquarium. The solar bollards were painted an ocean blue to match the rest of the aquarium’s existing lights and shielding was installed to meet any future lighting ordinances and to ensure there was no light pollution as they are installed next to the ocean.

San Diego State University

San Diego, CA

River Park is situated alongside Snapdragon Stadium and incorporates a 2-mile pedestrian and bike trail illuminated with FLT's solar IPL luminaires for consistent pathway lighting over the entire course. The selection of IPL by the park's designer, Visual Concepts Lighting, allowed for a faster installation as no trenching or wiring had to be connected, and it supported sustainability goals that the community had prioritized.

Central West Basin Linear Park

Miami, FL

The area that is now the Central West Basin Linear Park was previously a severely underused tract of land in Miami-Dade county, Florida. It was a 19 acre space that residents couldn’t utilize and was completely unlit at night. That all changed as a result of the city’s revitalization efforts. This park now boasts a 1.5 mile asphalt multi-use path with native plant landscaping and is lit entirely with solar lighting.

The Classic Square Series SCL2 solar luminaire was installed exclusively for the pathway. The ease of installation and reliability made it an easy choice for the city. Now, residents can enjoy the green space with added safety and security in the evening.

Capp Smith Park

Watauga, TX

Capp Smith Park, located in Watauga, Texas, features a 1.2-mile pathway surrounding a lake filled with nine natural springs within the confines of the lake area. This beautiful park is a popular attraction for residents and includes playgrounds, picnic areas, and fishing.

One hundred FLT Classic Square Series SCL2 solar luminaires illuminate Capp Smith Park’s long pathway, playground, and parking lots, improving accessibility and safety after the sun goes down. The SCL2 lights replaced over 200 wired bollards around the park and saved the City of Watauga thousands of dollars by avoiding rewiring and taking full advantage of solar lighting’s flexibility.

Grand Terrace Street Lighting

The City of Grand Terrace, California had many city streets without any street lighting. The city determined that installing AC wired lighting would be disruptive and expensive.

Installing FLT's powerful BFL street lights allowed the City dramatically improve these once dark streets with high-quality illumination that simply works all the time. With the BFL street light, no trenching or wiring was required, and the installation time was less than 15 minutes per light. The City saved thousands of dollars on installation and provided a service appreciated by residents.

Oregon, IL

24 Classic Round Series PLB solar bollards were installed along pathways in Oregon Park West, giving local park users better access during the evening and winter. Using solar saved time and money by not requiring any digging or trenching to set up the bollards.

San Tan Heights

Nestled at the foothills of a small mountain preserve in San Tan Valley, Arizona, is San Tan Heights, a new construction community in a tranquil desert setting offered by Pulte Homes.

“The main reason to purchase the project was that we could essentially contract this project and turn around and develop it within 30 days. In order to maintain schedule, solar was our only viable option otherwise we would have had to engage additional consultants, plan reviews, further engage the utility provider for the street lights and it became a schedule concern.”

Appoquinimink Library

Middletown, DE

Officials estimated 20,000 visitors came to the library in its first full month of being open. FLT's PLB solar bollards illuminate the pathway from the parking area to the library’s entrance, increasing the visibility and safety for visitors that arrive well into the evening.

Tender Care Medical Services

Spring Hill, FL

The Tender Care facility is a 4 acre property with approximately 150 parking spots for all of the staff. The parking lots were completely unlit. Digging trenches to install traditional wired lights wasn’t any option with the existing infrastructure. That’s where FLT came in.

24 BFL Series solar lights were chosen to light the lots. One of the biggest benefits was the fact that installation was so simple and didn’t require any special equipment.

Desert Willow Golf Course

Palm Desert, CA

The Desert Willow Golf Resort offers two championship golf courses in the Coachella Valley in California. When it was initially built in the late 1990s, wired lighting was installed on one side of the development. The city decided to use solar outdoor lighting when more lighting was needed, wanting to avoid any digging or large installation costs. Our Classic Round Series WLB solar bollard was chosen to add a softer light along various pathways at night and prevent expensive trenching costs.
